Progress of digital twin basin research and construction

The construction progress and research status of the digital twin basin was investigated and analyzed. The digital Yellow River, the digital twin technology, and the digital twin basin were introduced briefly, which formed an evolution chain. The main progress were reviewed in terms of information infrastructure, digital twin platform and water management system. The future research directions were put forward, which could provide a reference for the construction and technical research of digital twin basin.

Current condition and dynamic changes of soil erosion in China

Based on the data of third soil erosion census, analysis is made on the general condition of water and soil erosion at present, including water erosion, wind erosion and freeze-thaw erosion, as well as soil and water losses situation in four economic regions of east, northeast, middle and west China. Dynamic changes of soil erosion in the past 15 years are examined with the data of censuses collected by the Ministry of Water Resources. Evaluation of soil losses changes over years in major river basins of China is also conducted.

Future application of underwater robots in water sector and its technology status

Regarding Remotely Operated Vehicles(ROV) that widely applied currently, the introduction is focused on the formation and functions of observed type ROV. The advantages and disadvantages of ROV are evaluated that provide an insight for understanding the application prospects of underwater robot in the water sector.

The groundwater overexploitation status and countermeasure suggestions of the North China Plain

Prominent effects have been made by the groundwater overexploitation control in recent years. The deep confined water level stopped fall and has been rising in Beijing, Tianjin, Cangzhou and other large and medium-sized cities, and the land subsidence development tendency begin to slow down. But there still exists two banded huge overexploitation zone due to the long-term unbalanced groundwater exploitation and recharge. The groundwater level decreased as a whole and the aquifer suffered severe deficit in the single phreatic aquifer overexploitation zone, which is largely caused by the sharp decrease recharge owing to the reservoir excessive interception. The groundwater depression cone still has been expanding with a continuous trend in the adjacent weak confined aquifer overexploitation zone, which is caused by the over-intensified groundwater extraction, irregular reservoir regulation and the sharp decrease lateral recharge from the upper single phreatic aquifer. The groundwater depression cone also has been expanding with a continuous trend in the deep confined water overexploitation zone of the eastern central plain, which is caused by the groundwater over pumping; the shallow groundwater level is basically remained stable. For this reason,six precise countermeasures and suggestions in various zone and stratigraphic region have been put forward.
